A mathematician has calculated out that there are exactly 177,147 ways to tie a tie. He has even made a program that generates types of tie-knots. The most popular tie-knot (and most likely the one you know) is the Windsor knot. Apparently, the number of wrong ways to tie a tie is even more!
With the huge number of knots used in the art of tying a tie, it is quite easy to get lost in some of the more 'fancy' and forgetting the old favourites.
....that around 100,000,000 ties are sold around the year, on an annual basis, in just the USA alone, and as an industry, it is worth around $1 billion to the US economy!
